Update: Suspect Arrested In Fatal Stabbing

Police say a suspect is now under arrest in connection to a fatal stabbing in Lexington.  That fatal stabbing happened in the 500 block of Lamont Drive just before 7:30 Sunday night.  When police arrived, they found a 40 year old dead.

Police say the person responsible, Matthew Donaghy, was no stranger to the victim. They say that 20 year old Donaghy was the victim’s boyfriend. According to police, Donaghy grabbed a ‘dangerous instrument’ and assaulted the victim, leading to his death. Donaghy is charged with murder. Police did not share the circumstances leading up to the stabbing.

Neighbors tell us they had no idea what was happening until the coroner van and patrol cars began circling the neighborhood. A mobile crime lab has been on site throughout the evening. A statement from investigators is expected Monday Morning.
