FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Skeletal remains found Tuesday when a sinkhole opened up on a farm in Franklin County belonged to a Native American that could be anywhere from 1,000-to-3,000 years old, according to the county coroner.
The coroner’s office will work closely with the Kentucky Heritage Council and the State Historical Preservation Office to make sure the bones are properly reburied and that the site is disturbed as little as possible to prevent any additional damage to the archaeological site.
