UPDATE: Richmond ministry gives away donated clothing before closing for good

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ)- A non-profit ministry in Richmond gave back to the community one last time before closing its doors.

Light of Christ Ministries shut down permanently on Friday. Cayce Banker was working to clear out the building. She told us she was worried the ministry’s large supply of donated clothes wouldn’t get to those who needed them. "I don’t want to throw them in the garbage. I’d like to see other counties and other clothing banks get the clothes, that can help, because we cannot do it anymore."

ABC 36 News ran the story on Thursday, explaining that anyone who needed clothes could come by the ministry Friday and pick them up for free. Banker says after the story aired, four or five different church groups came by and collected all of the clothes. She says she’s grateful to know that the donations will be put to good use.
