Update: Police Report Says Accused Grocery Store Attacker Admitted To Crime
A Lexington Police report said a man accused in a knife attack in a grocery store admitted to the crime to two witnesses.
Corey Cummins is accused of cutting a woman’s neck while she shopped Wednesday afternoon in a Kroger store at the corner of West Lowry Lane and Nicholasville Road.
The police report said Cummins asked officers how much blood there was and if they thought the woman would die.
Police also said Cummins threatened to hurt other jail inmates.
On Wednesday, investigators said Cummins did not know his reported victim and called the incident a random act of violence that was "baffling."
The victim, whose name had not been released, was upgraded from critical to serious condition at U.K. Hospital on Thursday, according to a hospital spokesperson.
