UPDATE: More plea deals in Pikeville police officer’s murder

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two women accused of helping an accused cop killer hide from authorities in Pikeville, entered plea deals in the case, according to the Appalachian News Express.

The newspaper reports 37-year old Amanda Dotson, of Pikeville, and 44-year old Jeanne Blackburn, of Harold, agreed to cooperate with the investigation against 56-year old John Hall, of Pikeville.  He’s accused of gunning down Pikeville Police Officer Scotty Hamilton last March.

Two men accused of helping Hall hide from police, 40-year old Michael Slone, of Pikeville, and 55-year old Greg Dean Slone, of Betsy Layne, reached plea deals earlier this month, according to the newspaper.

Hall, who is charged with capital murder, was arrested at Greg Slone’s house, two days after the deadly shooting.

Prosecutors recommended four years in prison for Michael and Greg Slone and Amanda Dotson.  The plea deal for Jeanne Blackburn was different since prosecutors asked the court to amend her hindering apprehension charge down to a misdemeanor, according to the newspaper report.
