UPDATE: Pedestrian hit in Lexington dies

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Fayette County Coroner’s Office says a man is dead after being hit by a car Thursday.

The coroner says the victim is 75-year-old Patrick Murphy.

Police say Murphy was struck on Georgetown Street at around 8:30 p.m.

He was taken to the University of Kentucky Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The coroner says Murphy died from multiple blunt force injuries.

Police say they don’t believe charges will be filed against the driver.
