UPDATE: One death in collision on New Circle Rd.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Fayette Co. Coroner says that one of two people sent to the hospital after a collision on New Circle Road Monday afternoon has died.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.

Police say a car hit an excavator at Leestown and New Circle Roads.

Officers say a Camry somehow lost control and hit the excavator.

The collision shut down the road for about two hours.

No word on the condition of the second victim in the crash.
