Update: New Social Media Use Policy For Clark County Government Employees

Clark County Government employees are now limited in their use of social media in the workplace.

ABC 36 News reported two weeks ago that the Fiscal Court was working on a plan so that county employees wouldn’t use taxpayers’ time or resources on personal business online, using social media.

That plan was passed by the Fiscal Court this week.

The plan also requires some posts to the county’s social media pages to be approved first.

There is an appeals process for employees who believe they have been unfairly reprimanded under the new policy.

Clark County Judge-Executive Henry Branham said there wouldn’t be anyone from the county looking over employees shoulders, but if they receive complaints about a worker online for personal use on county time, they will investigate and take appropriate action if needed.
