UPDATE: New information about Sunday’s three shootings.
The most recent shooting happened on Charles Avenue, near Newtown Pike around 8:30 p.m. on June 7. Police say they were called to the area, and found 54-year-old Ronnie Graves in a car, with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but was pronounced dead at 9:39 p.m.
The second shooting happened on Whitney Avenue at Michigan Street at around 6 p.m.
LPD arrived at the scene to find two people shot, with one inside a car and the other outside of it.
The two victims were also rushed to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. Thirty-one-year-old Montez Lamont Graves was pronounced dead by the coroner, while the other victim is still in the hospital with serious injuries.
The violence started early Sunday morning, according to officers, on Hillcrest Avenue near Diamonds strip club. At 3:05 a.m., LPD was called to the scene for shots fired, finding shell casings but no victims. Nearly a half-hour later, individuals with gunshot wounds arrived at UK ER and Good Samaritan. Speaking with the victims and witnesses, officers say their current understanding is that these were the victims that were shot behind Diamonds.
Twenty-one year-old Jermaine M Anderson was arrested and charged in connection to the Whitney Ave. shooting.
Police confirm that Montex Graves was related to Ronnie Graves, but do NOT know if the three Sunday shootings are connected.
