Update: More Than 50 KY School Districts Will Raise Dropout Age
Kentucky schools are responding to the new law promoting a higher dropout age.
The law hit the books Tuesday.
So far 54 school districts have voted to up their dropout ages.
And they will each get a $10,000 grant for doing it.
The change is voluntary right now.
But it becomes mandatory once 55% of schools sign on.
The law gradually raises the dropout age from 16 to 18.
