UPDATE: Missing Clark County man rescued, later dies
WINCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – The search for a missing man in Clark County ends tragically.
Crews began searching for 78-year-old Kenneth Davis after his family reported him missing at 8:30 p.m. Thursday night.
They say he was last seen by his wife at around 1 p.m. Thursday when he went out on an ATV to search for lost cattle on their farm off Mountain View Lane and Scholsville Road.
Search and rescue crews were called in and searched several acres of land in foggy, wet conditions.
“There’s thousands of acres here between the Mountain Parkway and Scholsville Road and this rural community,” said Battalion Chief Ernest Barnes of The Clark County Fire Department. “It takes a lot of people to get together and search every little area where you might find a person and so we had quite a few of our guys out here searching.
Rescue crews finally located Davis down a ravine just before 12 a.m. and pulled him up.
Davis was taken to Clark Regional Medical Center, where the Clark County coroner says he was pronounced dead at 1:19 a.m. Friday.
He says the cause of death was blunt force trauma.
