UPDATE: McCreary Co. remains identified

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say human remains found in McCreary Co. have been identified after a meeting with the University of Tennessee Department of Forensic Anthropology on Thursday.

The remains have been identified as Charles R. Murphy, 26, of Stearns.  Police say Murphy was reported missing back in June of 2015.

The remains were found in a wooded area behind a home on Day Ridge Road in the Parkers Lake Community on March 29.

Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of death.
