UPDATE: Man arrested in Laurel Co. trailer theft

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says a suspected trailer thief is now under arrest.

Investigators say someone stole a utility trailer on January 30th, from a home on Kentucky 363.

Deputies say security video shows an SUV pulling up to a parked trailer.

Investigators say the suspect realized his hitch would not fit the trailer.

The suspect reportedly left, then returned to the home 15 minutes later with the correct sized hitch to steal the trailer.

According to the sheriff, after the victim posted pictures of the theft on Facebook, the trailer was returned to the victim’s driveway.

The sheriff says a detective was able to track down and arrest 38-year-old Steven Robinson.

According to the deputies, Robinson’s effort to borrow the right sized hitch was a key factor in finding him.
