UPDATE: Man arrested in connection with dog attack
DANVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Danville police say a tip led to the have arrest of Chris Pope in connection with a dog attack that happened in Lincoln Co. earlier this week.
The Sheriff in Lincoln Co. says Pope is the owner of a group of dogs that attacked a woman, almost ripping off one of her arms in the process. One of Pope’s dogs has been put down. The others are now at the Lincoln Co. Animal Shelter.
Officers in Danville say they found Pope on Old Shakertown Road. After Pope’s arrest, police say they executed a search warrant on the home and found 12 dogs inside, ranging in ages from puppies to adults. The dogs were removed by the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society. The conditions inside the house led to the house being condemned.
Pope has been charged with harboring a vicious animal and 2nd degree animal cruelty.
