UPDATE: Laura Babbage moves to outpatient treatment
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) -In a Facebook post on Friday, former Kentucky Secretary of State, Bob Babbage, announced that his wife, Laura Babbage has come home from Cardinal Hill after four weeks of in-patient rehab.
In July, Laura Babbage sustained a traumatic brain injury in a serious cycling accident while in France. Doctors even had to induce a 9-day coma in order for the brain to have time to recover. Afterwards, she was transferred to the Neurosurgery Trauma Unit at UK Hospital in Lexington and then on to Cardinal Hill where she has been for the last month doing in-patient rehabilitation.
In his post, Bob Babbage lauds her “grit and determination” for getting through the rehab, and praises the work of the team at Cardinal Hill.
“We are thrilled beyond words to have her home with us,” he writes, “and grateful as ever for the love, support, and prayers offered by so many.”
The post says that outpatient rehab will be ongoing through the fall.
