UPDATE: KSP investigating trooper-involved shooting in Rowan County

UPDATE:

ROWAN COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) is investigating a deadly trooper-involved shooting that occurred Tuesday morning in Rowan County.

According to KSP, a trooper responded to a domestic violence call at a home near Morehead around 11:30 a.m. When he got there, the trooper reportedly found the suspect, identified as Thomas Crouch Jr., armed with a knife and kneeling over a woman inside the home.

State police say the trooper fired at Crouch, who was taken to St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, where he later died. The woman involved in the domestic incident was also transported to a hospital for treatment and was later released.

KSP says it is continuing to investigate the shooting, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses. No further details have been released at this time.
