UPDATE: Investigators Look For Cause And Smoke Detectors In Lexington Apartment Fire
Fire investigators said on Tuesday that they were rechecking to see if there was a smoke detector in an apartment that caught fire over the weekend in Lexington.
The fire broke out in a single unit at the Belmont Park Apartments on Etawah Drive.
Initials reports from the scene indicated that there weren’t any smoke detectors in the apartment, but the fire department is investigating.
No one was home at the time of the fire.
The American Red Cross helped with temporary shelter for the two adults and child who lived in the apartment.
The cause remained under investigation.
