UPDATE: Five Injured In Lexington Crash Involving Ambulance
Police said five people were hurt Monday afternoon in a Lexington crash that involved an ambulance.
Officers said it started when a minivan that was stopped on Alumni Drive was rear-ended by a second minivan.
The first minivan then collided with a Harlan County ambulance going the opposite direction, according to police.
Investigators said one person in a minivan was hurt.
The driver, a paramedic, a nine-year-old patient and a relative in the ambulance were also injured.
Police said the injuries were not life-threatening.
According to investigators, the ambulance’s sirens had been on at the time of the crash.
