Loved ones of Noel Espino set up a fundraising page on gofundme.
Police said Espino, 36, was hit outside of The Beer Trappe on Euclid Avenue in September.
Lexington Firefighter Jarad McCargo faced several charges in the incident, including driving under the influence and hit and run.
The city fired McCargo a few days the crash.
Espino served in the Guam Army National Guard and was in Lexington for training.
Family members said his wife had left her job to be closer to Espino while he recovered.
He had been listed in critical condition for almost 30 days before he was upgraded to serious condition.
His left leg was amputated, and doctors expected him to remain in the hospital until at least February.
