UPDATE: Explosion At A Lexington Hotel

According to firefighters, there was an explosion at Fairfield Inn & Suites in Lexington Sunday afternoon near Lakecrest Circle.

Firefighters said they were called to the scene for an automatic alarm.

They told ABC 36 a person walked to a nearby hotel and said he hit the building.

Fire crews said they arrived and noticed the gas leak and evacuated the building before the explosion.

According to police on the scene, hotel staff helped with the evacuation.

Guests are being placed in surrounding hotels.

Police said there are no charges against the driver at this point.

No injuries were reported.

Two firefighters were transported to the hospital just for precaution.

Sean Burbridge, of Nevada, was staying at the hotel.

Burbridge said he ignored the alarm, but a woman knocked on his door and urged him to evacuate.

He said he’s alive, because of the woman.

"If it wasn’t for her, I honestly don’t know what would’ve happened. I don’t want to think about it," said Burbridge.

The woman is the assistant G.M. of the hotel.

"I just feel very blessed that we’re all here, and there were no casualties," said Debbie Tyler, assistant G.M.
