UPDATE: Escaped Blackburn Inmate Caught

An inmate at the Blackburn Correctional Complex in Fayette County, walked away from the minimum-security prison Saturday night and was caught Sunday afternoon.

Police said John Stamper was confirmed missing at approximately 9:30 p.m. Officers said Stamper was serving a 5-year sentence for convictions out of Madison County, including Burglary II and Receiving Stolen Property and would have been eligible for release on October 1, 2015. 

Stamper is a 48-year old white male, 5’8, 150 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.
