UPDATE: Dump truck overturns, shuts down Iron Works Pike in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – A dump truck crash shut down Iron Works Pike on Wednesday morning, sending one person to the hospital and leaving gravel scattered across the roadway.

Lexington police say it happened just before 8:30 a.m. in the 1900 block of Iron Works Pike. The dump truck overturned after a mechanical issue, and the driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Officials say cleanup is ongoing, but there is no timetable yet for when the road will reopen. Drivers are urged to use alternate routes.
