UPDATE: Drivers finally moving again after being stranded for hours

HARDIN COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- Traffic started moving again Friday on I-65 and I-24 after drivers were stranded for several hours. Thousands of people waited in their vehicles after a massive snowstorm caused accidents and stopped semi trucks.

The Kentucky National Guard was called in to help motorists. Highway crews were still trying to clear several jackknifed trucks Friday afternoon, and get to other stranded vehicles that had blocked snow plows and emergency responders.

Emergency officials say they’ll continue to monitor the interstates overnight to make sure traffic keeps moving.
