UPDATE: Defense Frustrated With Delays In Danville Triple Murder Case

The defense in a high profile, triple murder case in Danville said Tuesday it was disappointed that a trial date had not yet been set.

A status hearing was held Tuesday afternoon in the Kenneth Keith case in Boyle County.

Keith is accused of shooting and killing three people at a Danville pawn shop in September 2013.

Two of the victims, Michael and Angela Hockensmith, owned the store.

A customer named Daniel Smith was also killed in the shooting.

In court, the prosecution said it was still waiting on an evidence report from the state crime lab.

Keith’s attorney Beth Stanziano said the revelation was new to her.

She said she had received a final crime lab report back in June.

The defense had asked last October for prosecutors to release some of what police said was evidence in the case.

It included a vehicle and money that was reportedly inside a safe.

Prosecutors said they had released the van, but the money had not yet been turned over.

Officials said it was at the state crime lab being tested to see if it there was blood on the cash.

Keith was scheduled to be back in court on January 6, 2015 for a status hearing.
