Update: Daycare Worker Charged with Abuse

A Lexington daycare worker accused of abusing a one-year old child at the Lexington Baptist Temple Daycare pleaded not guilty in court on Tuesday.

Police arrested Shirley Martinez after she was observed on a surveillance tape from July 5th inflicting "cruel punishment" on the child.

Martinez was arrested yesterday at the daycare.
