UPDATE: Coroner identifies teen killed in crash in Franklin County

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Franklin County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the teenager killed in a motorcycle crash Sunday night.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff, 16-year-old Matthew Steverson of Waddy was driving a Honda motorcycle with an adult passenger when he crashed into the side of a Toyota Highlander turning left onto the on-ramp of I64 from US 127.

Steverson was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:15 p.m., according to the coroner.

His passenger, Travis Jennings of Frankfort, was flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

A woman and an infant in the Highlander were not injured.

The Franklin County Sheriffs Office and the Franklin County Coroners Office are continuing to investigate.
