UPDATE: Computer hacker goes to prison early for violating release terms

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The computer hacker known as “KY Anonymous” was ordered to prison early for violating the conditions of his release, according to a report in the Lexington Herald-Leader.

Deric Lostutter, formerly of Clark County, was due to report to federal prison in early May. But, he was taken into custody Thursday after a judge ruled Lostutter violated a condition of his release that prohibited him from directly or indirectly accessing the Internet through any electronic device, according to the newspaper report.

During Thursday’s hearing, a probation officer testified that earlier this month Lostutter’s wife posted a social media photograph and video of her husband giving the middle finger, which violated the release terms, according to the report.

Last November Deric Lostutter pleaded guilty to conspiring to hack a website associated with Steubenville High School athletics in Ohio and to a second charge of lying to an FBI agent investigating the breach.

Lostutter was living in Clark County when two Steubenville High School football players were charged with raping an unconscious 16-year old girl in August 2012.

As the Herald-Leader reported, the case received national attention due the role social media played in spreading information about the reported assault.
