Update: Community Tips Pouring In After Dog Was Found In Dumpster
We’re learning more about the case of an injured dog found thrown away in a dumpster in Nicholasville.
Jessamine County Animal Control says the community is stepping up to help figure out who left it in a cardboard box in the trash.
Investigators say the chihuahua mix was found lifeless in a dumpster Wednesday afternoon at the Helmsdale Apartments on Wichita Drive.
She was badly injured with puncture wounds that were infected.
A veternarian believes the dog was attacked by another animal.
But investigators want to know who put it in a dumpster.
They say they’ve received more than 100 phone calls with tips from the community.
Meanwhile Animal Control says the dogs vet bills are growing every day.
