Update: Child Reported Dead In Critical Condition
Kentucky State Police said a Knox county child originally reported as dead following an accident is still alive.
The 22-month-old child was struck by a car in Barbourville on Maggie Cane Road Monday.
Troopers said the driver stopped to let two children get out of the way of his car but did not see the third child and struck her.
State police said they were told by the Knox County Hospital emergency room that the girl died but were later told by the University of Kentucky hospital, where the child was sent later, that she was listed in critical condition.
Her name has not been released.
