UPDATE: Campbell County to Lift Burn Ban
ALEXANDRIA, Ky. (WTVQ) – Campbell County is lifting its burn ban at midnight, November 29, 2016.
Campbell County Emergency Management Director William Turner cautioned that regulations mandated by the Kentucky Division of Forestry remain in effect.
The Forest Fire Hazard Season runs through December 15, which means it’s illegal to burn anything within 150-feet of any woodland or brushland between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Only natural growth like leaves, brush and tree limbs, are allowed to be burned. No trash is allowed to be burned at any time.
Chief Mark Bailey, President of the Campbell County Fire Chiefs Association noted that residents are urged to practice fire safety when conducting any outdoor burning including having sufficient fire suppression assets such as a water hose at the ready to help control the burning leaves and grass.
Should a debris fire get out of hand, residents should immediately move to a place of safety and call 911 to report the fire.
