UPDATE: Call for Help Released in Fire Truck Crash
All six volunteer firefighters involved in a crash Tuesday night are now home from the hospital.
The Anderson County Interim Fire Chief said they are recovering from scrapes and bruises.
An Anderson County fire truck was headed to help at the scene of an accident when the firefighters needed help themselves.
Officials said the truck went off the road and slammed into a tree.
Emergency crews from Anderson County, Franklin County and Mercer County all came to help out.
The crews are thankful for all the support.
“It’s invaluable to know that you have a group of people that have your back in any situation,” said Douglas Cox, Anderson County Interim Fire Chief. “It doesn’t matter if it’s on a fire scene, or in this case now that they’re out of that event that happened, now they have people that can support them.”
Kentucky State Police is investigating the crash.
