UPDATE: Arrest made in Lexington pizza delivery driver murder
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police made an arrest in connection with the murder of a pizza delivery driver who was found unresponsive in an apartment complex breezeway on April 19, 2015.
Investigators say 30-year old Antonio Lewis is charged with murder and robbery in connection to the death of 22-year old Salahuddin Jitmoud. Police say Jitmoud was cut in the area of the neck at Walnut Hill Apartments on Trent Circle.
Some in Lexington’s Muslim community wondered publicly if Jitmoud’s murder was a hate crime. Lexington Police said at the beginning of the investigation that it was too early to determine if it was, but that every potential motive would be investigated.
The mayor and chief of police even met with the Jitmoud family to discuss the suggestion that the murder was a possible hate crime and to keep the family up-to-date on the investigation. Jitmoud’s was the sixth homicide in Lexington in 2015, according to police.
Anyone with additional information in the case is asked to call Lexington Police at 859-258-3600 or 859-258-3700 or Bluegrass Crime Stoppers at 859-253-2020. To leave a tip online, click here
