UPDATE: “Armed and dangerous” suspect caught in Muhlenberg Co.
DUNMORE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say they have apprehended a man they called “armed and dangerous” in the Dunmor area of Muhlenberg Co.
Officers say 22-year-old Cody N. McIntosh was found just before 9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning at his mother’s home on Forgy Mill Road.
Investigators say he was taken to the Owensboro Health Mughlenberg Community Hospital where he was treated for weather-related ailments and released.
Officers say just before 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, McIntosh tried to avoid a safety checkpoint at the intersection of US 431 and KY 70. When Troopers went to stop the car, they say McIntosh sped up, and pulled into a yard behind a home on Chumley Lane in the Beech Creek area. Just before coming to a stop, officers say McIntosh fired a handgun from the driver’s side window. Troopers say he then got out of the vehicle and fired several shots, before running into a wooded area on foot.
McIntosh was taken to the Muhlenberg Co. Detention Center and charged with fleeing and evading, wanton endangerment, possession of marijuana, and reckless driving, among other charges.
