UPDATE: “All Clear” Given After Shots Fired On UK Campus

According to campus police, an "all clear" was given on University of Kentucky’s campus after multiple reports of shots fired put the university on lock down Sunday night. 

University of Kentucky Police Chief Joe Monroe said police are still actively investigating and trying to find a group of four to eight suspects that were seen in the area when the shots rang out around 10:00 p.m.

UK officials said there were injuries in the shooting.

UK Police told ABC 36 News that the shots were fired in the southern portion of campus near the Kirwan and Blanding Towers.

The university sent an emergency alert to the entire campus and all students advising them that the campus had been locked down, to stay indoors and seek shelter immediately. 

UK Police, along with Lexington Police, Kentucky State Police Troopers and multiple K-9 units were being used to search the area for those suspects.

The "all clear" was issued around 11:45 p.m. Sunday. Police are still searching for the suspects.
