UPDATE: 900 Canned Goods Donated In ‘Food For Fines’ Program
Lexington said it had collected 900 cans so far in its ‘Food for Fines’ campaign.
The program through the Lexington Parking Authority allowed people to pay parking meter fines with canned goods.
The donated items would go to God’s Pantry Food Bank to help feed Central Kentucky families.
The program was scheduled to run through December 19.
