University volunteers helping at food bank before bowl game
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) – Volunteers from the schools meeting in this month’s Music City Bowl will help out at a food bank in Nashville before the game.
The University of Louisville says Cardinals volunteers will team up with those from Texas A&M to work at Second Harvest Food Bank the morning of Dec. 30. The volunteers are expected to help with food-sorting projects that address hunger for children, families and seniors in the Middle Tennessee region.
U of L will deliver more than 430 pounds of food to the food bank, thanks to the university bookstore.
U of L students, parents, faculty, staff, administrators and alumni are invited to sign up for the work, which will start at 8:30 a.m. and end at 11:30 a.m. To volunteer, visit http://louisville.edu/student/bowlservice by Dec. 28.
