University of the Cumberlands baseball player murdered

CHARLOTTE, NC. (WTVQ/WSOC) – A University of the Cumberlands baseball player was shot to death over the weekend outside an apartment complex in Charlotte, North Carolina.

21-year old Zachary Finch was gunned down Sunday afternoon, according to our sister station, WSOC, in Charlotte.

He was a senior at the school in Williamsburg.

So far, no arrests have been made.

“We are absolutely heartbroken over the death of Zach,” said UC Head Baseball Coach Brad Shelton. “Zach was a member of our program for three years. He was kindhearted, intelligent and well-spoken. His teammates and I loved him. Please pray for his family in this difficult time.”
