Unions strike Four Roses Bourbon Distillery

LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – Union workers at Four Roses Bourbon Distillery in Lawrenceburg went on strike Friday in a dispute over benefits.

After failed negotiations with the company, union workers from UFCW Local 10D, UFCW Local 23D and NCFO 320 went on strike.  The unions say vacation, sick leave and seniority are among the issues at the heart of the strike.

“I’m here to fight for my right.  I’m also here to fight for the rights of the brothers and sisters who fought the fight before me, and I’m here to fight for the unborn union members.  We’re going to stand our ground, stand strong, and we’re only asking for what we’re owed by the company.  We just want everything to be fair to all,” said a striking union member.

An estimated 53 union workers are on strike.  As of this writing, the company had not responded publicly.
