Fire destroys Lee County cafe

BEATTYVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Fire destroys a Lee County restaurant and damages two other businesses.

The fire broke out at the Manna Café on Main Street in Beattyville at around 11-30 Wednesday.

Firefighters say they tried to get inside to fight the fire, but the roof of the building started to collapse.

Several surrounding fire departments came to the scene to help fight the fire.

Despite their efforts, it’s believed the business is a total loss.

Two other nearby businesses, Poor Boy’s Auction House and Kentucky Farm Bureau, were damaged by smoke, according to firefighters.

The Manna Café has been in business for about four years.

Firefighters stayed on the scene Thursday morning to keep an eye on hot spots.
