Lexington crash kills woman

LEXINGTON, Ky, (WTVQ) – A late-night collision with a semi-truck kills a woman in Lexington.

The crash happened on Winchester Road and Elkhorn Drive at around 10:30 p.m.

Police tell us a car was turning onto Elkhorn Drive when it collided with a semi-truck.

The passenger, who the Fayette Co. Coroner has identified as 20-year-old Sarai Ramirez, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.

The driver was also taken to the hospital.

Police say his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

Police say its Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the accident.
