Last steel beam put in place at new Shriner’s Hospital
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The final steel beam was put into place in the building of a new Shriner’s Hospital, Tuesday.
An evergreen on one end of the beam represents hope and the future. The other end has an American flag.
There’s plenty of work left to be done to finish the $47 million hospital. The work started in March and is expected to be finished in the spring of 2017.
The hospital is five stories and located at the corner of Conn Terrace and Limestone.
University of Kentucky Healthcare will lease the top two floors. The rest of the floors will be for Shriner’s patients.
