#2 Kentucky to take on Florida at 11 a.m. on Wednesday

Game originally slated for 7 p.m. was postponed because of severe weather

OMAHA, Ne. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- NCAA officials have moved the Kentucky versus Florida baseball game to Wednesday at 11 a.m. as severe weather is set to impact the Omaha area on Tuesday night.

The announcement was made just before 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday. If the Wildcats beat the Gators on Wednesday morning it’ll face #3 Texas A&M at 7 p.m. that night.

Both games will be broadcast on ESPN.

UK last played UF in a three-game series in the regular season as the Bat Cats won two out of the three games. Both of those wins came in extra innings and were decided by two runs or less.

The path to the Men’s College World Series final was already difficult for the Wildcats.

Head Coach Nick Mingione’s 1-1 team had to win three games across the same amount of days. The postponed Florida game means that three victories in two days are now required for Kentucky’s first MCWS Finals berth.
