UK Softball adds Mt. Sterling native to 2025 signing class
Reaghan Oney will be eligible in 2026 to compete
LEXINGTON, KY. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- After one season at Troy, Mt. Sterling native Reaghan Oney is coming home to the Bluegrass as the newest member of Kentucky Softball.
Oney, an outfielder who played at Montgomery County and is a former Miss Kentucky Softball, started every game for the Trojans during her freshman season scoring 17 runs overall.
She also hit .321 in 48 games with 10-extra base hits reaching second half a dozen times and two homers. Her fielding percentage is also impressive standing at .961.
“The first things that immediately stand out about Reaghan are her passion for the game and her love of the Big Blue Nation.” said Head Coach Rachel Lawson. “Reaghan’s mindset, work ethic and talents are exactly what we are looking for as we complete our roster.”
At MoCo, Oney ended her high school career with 69 home runs, 255 RBIs and 301 hits. She also holds the state record for most homers in a season with 24 and consecutive games with a homer standing at seven. Both happened during her senior year.
