UK Rehires Longtime Civil Rights Activist
The University of Kentucky has rehired Chester Grundy.
The longtime UK employee and civil rights activist was laid off last June.
Grundy had been Director of the Martin Luther King Cultural Center for more than 30 years.
The layoff prompted protests.
Now UK says it’s hired Grundy to be a Senior Advisor, on diversity issues, to the Dean of the UK College of Medicine.
