UK player arrested on drug trafficking charges
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A University of Kentucky football player is facing drug trafficking charges.
According to court documents, 21-year-old Marcus Walker was arrested Thursday morning by Lexington police at a home on Unity Drive.
He was booked into jail just before 6 a.m. on charges of trafficking marijuana (greater than 5 pounds), trafficking cocaine (greater than 4 grams) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Walker is a junior safety with the University of Kentucky football team.
A spokesperson for the team says they are aware of the arrest but have no further comment at this time.
Walker is scheduled to be arraigned in Fayette District Court at 1 p.m. Thursday.
