UK investigating employee over “repugnant” petition deemed anti-Semitic

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — The University of Kentucky has launched an investigation after a controversial petition — described as allegedly anti-Semitic — was linked to a UK employee, according to university officials.

President Eli Capilouto confirmed the employee has been removed from teaching duties while the investigation is underway. He called the petition “repugnant” and said it may have created a hostile environment in violation of civil rights law.

UK says it has hired outside legal counsel for a third-party review and is taking steps to ensure the safety and rights of all those involved in the case.
