UK Hoops needs better shooters

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – It was UK Hoops media day today.

Matthew Mitchell believes his team has a chance to be a special group…but it’ll take full commitment from every girl on the team to truly be great.

Tenacious defense will once again be the cornerstone for the Cats.  40 minutes of high-tempo, high-energy pressure has been the staple of Mitchell teams in Lexington.

But the big weakness right now is a big one and you can see it in the video.

It’s shooting percentage.

The dancing king says his team has to be better shooting the ball than in the past.

That’s what has kept the Cats from being elite even when they’ve been a top-ten program…and it’s on Mitchell to figure out how to make it happen.
