UK football player diagnosed with cancer
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A University of Kentucky football player has been diagnosed with melanoma.
Coach Mark Stoops made the announcement on Friday.
Stoops says defensive lineman Josh Paschal had some skin removed from the bottom of his foot last week and the lesion came back as malignant.
He says Paschal wanted to be upfront with the diagnosis so there was no speculation if he misses some time with the team.
The coach also announced the team’s offensive line coach, John Schlarman, is battling an unspecified illness.
