UK fans react to Kentucky Basketball loss

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Angry, sad and disappointed, a few words to describe how Kentucky fans are feeling after the loss last night.

Now the question remains: what is next for Coach John Calipari? Different fans have different thoughts.

“I think within a week he’ll step down,” UK fan Lance Huckaby said. “That’s my opinion, but he may not. I don’t know.”

On the other hand, some fans think he’s going to stay.

“He’s got a lifetime contract, are we just going to buy him out? I don’t think so, I think we’re just stuck,” UK fan Zack Fowler said.

Many UK fans had high hopes for their team, but they were quickly shattered. Jimmy Phillips with ESPN Radio shared how the fans he’s talked to have been feeling.

“I would say the overwhelming majority is just hurt, it’s not even an anger, I think it’s more just shock and just upset,” Phillips said.
