UK cruises past Oklahoma

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW)  The Kentucky Wildcats improved to 16–7 on the season with a 94–78 victory over Oklahoma on Tuesday night. The win marked Kentucky’s seventh in SEC play, keeping the Wildcats just a half game behind conference leaders Texas A&M and Florida, both of whom sit at 7–2.

Kentucky was once again led by Otega Oweh, who poured in 24 points to pace the Wildcats. Brandon Garrison turned in the best performance of his UK career, finishing with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Garrison was highly efficient, missing just one shot all night while going 7-for-8 from the field and a perfect 6-for-6 at the free-throw line.

Collin Chandler also played a key role, scoring 18 points while knocking down four of his eight attempts from beyond the arc.

The win carries added importance for Kentucky as it sets up a crucial stretch in conference play. The Wildcats will host Tennessee on Saturday before traveling to Gainesville to face Florida on Valentine’s Day in a matchup that could have major SEC standings implications.
